Corporate Social Responsibilty
We don't regard CSR as an 'add-on' to our corporate brand and reputation. Rather, it's something that should be ebedded in the way we think and act as a business. So, when we talk about managing our social environmental and ethical impact properly - the essence of our approach to CSR - you can assume that everyone in our business means it!
We're currently taking time to properly understand the impact we have as a business and what's expected of us on CSR. Most importantly, we want to make sure that we're making a difference where no-one else can.
We are already clear about our priorities which can be summarized as such:
- Treating our customers properly
- Looking after our employees
- Observing good corporate governance
- Behaving sustainable towards the environment
- Using responsible suppliers
- Ensuring our products are ethical
In March 2008 the Avalon Group launched a new charity policy and guidance for developing commercial partnership. Avalon in the past dedicated all of it's charitable donations to a board sector of Scottish and UK charities. However after watching David Hayman's interview on Sky News we decided to put all our efforts and 'commit all future charitable work' to David's charity 'Spirit Aid'.
Spirit Aid is dedicated to the children of our world, whose lives have been devastated by way, poverty abuse or lack of opportunity at home and abroad.
